Early life, family, and education

Rishabh Pant was born on 4 October 1997. His birthplace is Haridwar, Uttarakhand, India. However, Rishabh traces his roots back to Roorkee, Uttarakhand, India. He also belongs to a Kumauni Brahmin Family. Rishabh’s father was Rajendra Pant and mother is Saroj Pant and he has an elder sister, Sakshi Pant.


He also completed his schooling at The Indian Public School, Dehradun. Afterwards. he went to Sri Venkateswara College, Delhi University, New Delhi. Also, he always had a desire to be a cricketer. He always admired Australian wicket-keeper Batsman, Adam Gilchrist. Later, Rishabh relocated from Roorkee to Delhi, when he was just 12, to get expert coaching in cricket.

Rishabh Pant is going out with Isha Negi. Isha an entrepreneur and interior decor designer by profession.

Later, there were rumours in 2018 that Urvashi Rautela and Rishabh are in a relationship. Moreover, Urvashi went to many cricket matches when India played. However, they are no longer dating each other after their controversial breakup.

Career

Rishabh Pant represented Rajasthan at U-14 and U-16 level. When Rishabh was playing for the Rajasthan team, he had to face discrimination and was treated as an outsider and finally thrown out of the academy. After going through all the ill-treatment and in order to save his career in cricket, Pant fled from Rajasthan to Delhi. Afterwards, Pant started playing for Delhi at multiple age-level matches and made his debut for team Delhi in 2015. Under Rahul Dravid he began performing for the India-A team. Moreover, Dravid helped him in refining his batting skills by spending more time in practicing with him.
Again, In 2016, Rishabh started playing for Delhi Daredevils. He was hired for ₹1.9 crore from a base price of ₹10 lakhs. Pant’s performance in the U19 World Cup (2016) was a turning point in his life and marked his International test debut against England at Nottingham on 18 August 2018, International ODI debut against West Indies at Guwahati on 21 October 2018, and International T20 debut against England at Bengaluru on 1 February 2017.

In May 2022, he was named as the vice-captain of the Indian team for the South Africa tour of India 2022 series. At the age of 24 years and 248 days, he became the second-youngest captain to lead India in a T20I match. Afterwards, in July 2022, in the final match of India’s tour of England, he recorded his maiden century in ODI cricket scoring 125 runs and remaining not out.
