Reena D’Souza is the daughter of retired bank employee Francis D’Souza and Rosy D’Souza. Her mother worked as a nurse at Corpus Christi Church in Moodbidri until retiring. Freeda D’souza is Reena’s elder sister.

She attended Rotary English Medium School in Moodbidri and graduated with a degree in Computer Science Engineering from MITE in Moodbidri. Reena began her career as a TV anchor on Namma TV station when she was 19 years old. She also performed some stage shows, which helped launch her career.
