Pitobash is mainly known for his role in the movies I Am Kalam, Begum Jaan, Shor in the City, Mom, the Hollywood film Million Dollar Arm and the National Award-winning Odia film Kalira Atita.

Early life, family, and career of Pitobash Tripathy

Pitobash Tripathy was born in 1984. His birthplace is Nayagarh, Odisha. However, Pitobash was brought up in Bhubaneswar. Also, in Bhubhaneshwar, he completed his schooling at the Government High School, Unit 1. Afterwards, Pitobash joined Buxi Jagabandhu Bidyadhar College, Bhubaneswar, for his higher secondary education. Tripathy then completed a Bachelor of Technology degree in 2005 from the Government College of Engineering and Leather Technology in Kolkata. Moreover, he has a diploma in acting from the Film and Television Institute of India.

Career

Early career

The President of India awarded him the National Bal Shree Honour in creative performance at 12. Pitobash Tripathy was also involved in theatre in Kolkata in 2007. Then, he joined the Bollywood industry as an actor.

He started acting in the movie 99. Pitobash then appeared in a supporting role in 3 Idiots.


Next, he appeared in the film I Am Kalam, directed by Nila Madhab Panda. He also played a part in the movie Shor in the City. Pitobash also acted in the movie Mirch in five different roles. Tripathy’s additional appearances include the films Joker, Aalaap, Shanghai and Once Upon a Time in Mumbai Dobaara!. 

Web series

In 2018, he appeared in the Zee 5’s web series named Table no 5. Since 2019, Pitobash has been working on Metro Park as Bittu. This web series is also aired on Eros Now.

  • When Pitobash was 12, he was conferred with National Balshree Award by Late Dr Shankar Dayal Sharma (the then President of India) in 1996.
  • Then, in 2005, after completing his B. Tech. in Kolkata, Tripathy started preparing for the FTII Examination.
  • Pitobash is also self-trained in Western and Contemporary Dance.
  • In 2009, Pitobash got a small role in Amir Khan’s blockbuster film- 3 Idiots.
  • In 2012, Tripathy also won the Screen Best Actor in a Comic Role Award for Shor in the City.
