Manolo was born in Barranquilla, Colombia, into the family of Joe Gonzalez and Sofía Vergara. He is the only child in his family. Unfortunately, Manolo Gonzalez Vergara’s parents separated in 1993, just after two years of marriage when he was young.

He further studied film production at Emerson College in Boston. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in 2015, and his mom was in attendance to celebrate. He shares an extremely close relationship with her mom and often meet her to celebrate different occasion in their life.

Career

Just like his mother, Manolo also chose the film industry. He is an actor, film director, entrepreneur, and YouTuber. His journey in the entertainment scene began in 1997 when he appeared in the La sonrisa del pelícano TV series. Since then, he has also appeared in a few other movies and TV shows. Manolo has taken on some movie roles. In 2015, he appeared in Hot Pursuit, a film that starred Vergara and Reese Witherspoon. He also directed Waking Up and Post-Mortem.

Manolo is an animal lover and has been inspired by his dog Baguette to create a line of dog beds, clothes and other accessories called Canini by Baguette. The company launched on Instagram in 2019 and has grown over the past couple of years. In November 2021, Manolo announced that the line would be available for purchase at Walmart.

Personal Life

Apart from his professional career, he makes sure to work in his personal life as well. Although he seems busy working and making sure to reach the goals he sets for himself, He believes that one should give importance to his relationship also.

In November 2015, Manolo played a big part in his mom’s wedding by walking her down the aisle and giving her away to Joe Manganiello, her second husband. Over the years, Manolo has seemingly maintained a close relationship with Manganiello. In 2022, he joined Vergara and Manganiello at the premiere of the actor’s series Moonhaven. However, the couple divorced in July 2023 due to personal reasons.

In 2017, Vergara and Manolo walked the red carpet at the 69th Emmy Awards together. The Emmys weren’t the first time the mother-son duo hit the carpet together. In 2014, Manolo joined his mom at In Style’s Golden Globes afterparty. He also supported Vergara when she received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2015.

Apart from sharing a good relationship with his mother, he also has a pet dog who is his best friend, Baguette. Inspired by his dogs, he opened a company where you get beds, clothes and other accessories called Canini by Baguette. He believes that dogs are our best friends and we have to make sure to provide them with the best quality products that can give them a sense of comfort.
