Major 2022 is an Indian biographical action drama film. Sashi Kiran Tikka directs the film. It is produced by Sony Pictures International Productions, GMB Entertainment, and A+S Movies. The film is about the life of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, an army officer who was killed in the 2008 Mumbai attacks. Adivi Sesh has played the lead role in this movie. It’s his debut Hindi movie. He has also written the story and did the screenplay addition. The film also stars Prakash Raj, Sobhita Dhulipala, Saiee Manjrekar, Revathi, Murali Sharma and Anish Kuruvilla. It is a bilingual movie made in Telugu and Hindi.

Storyline of Major 2022

Major 2022 is about the life of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, an army officer who was killed in the 2008 Mumbai attacks. He had wanted to join the Army since childhood. But like others parents, his parents also wanted him to become a doctor or an engineer. He decided to stick to his dreams and then applied for a job in the Army and fulfilled his wish. The story of Major answers the question of what happened in the life of Sandeep, who joined the Army.

Release date and availability

Initially, it was supposed to release on 2 July 2021 but was postponed due to COVID-19. Major had limited theatrical release starting from 24 May 2022 with special pre-release screenings in selected cities across India. Major got theatrically released worldwide on 3 June 2022 in Telugu and Hindi languages. The digital distribution rights were acquired by Netflix in all languages.
