Gauahar Khan is an Indian model, VJ and actress. She is mostly famous for her prominent role in Ranbir Kapoor’s starrer, Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year (2009). She has also done a couple of television ads, such as Bajaj Auto, Ford Ikon and Tanishq jewellery.

Personal life

Gauahar was born on 23 August 1984 in Pune. She was born in a Muslim family. She completed her schooling from Mount Carmel Convent School. Then she took admission in Ness Wadia College of Commerce, Pune.

Her mother’s name is Razia Zafar. She has two sisters, Nigaar Khan and Kausar Khan. Her father’s name is Zafar Ahmed Khan. In March 2021, her father died after being admitted in a hospital.

In November 2020, she got engaged to actor, Zaid Darbar. The couple tied the knot on 25 December of the same year.

Career

Gauahar started her career as a model. In 2002, she participated in Femina Miss India contest. She was ranked fourth and won the Miss Talented title. Later in the same year, she represented India in the Miss International contest.

In 2004, she made her debut in Bollywood with two films, Aan: Men at Work and Shankar Dada M.B.B.S., a Telugu film in item songs. She also participated in the dance reality show, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 3. She became the first runner up of the show. Khan made her acting debut in the 2009 with the film Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year.

Khan played Chand Bibi in the 2012 romantic drama Ishaqzaade, in which she also appeared in two item numbers “Jhalla Walla” and “Chokra Jawaan”. Later she was seen in many reality shows like Khatron k Khiladi, Bigg Boss etc.

Not only movies but she has also done many web series. Web series like Tandav, Parchayee, Salt city etc featured her.

Gauahar has done many music videos also. She did 3 music videos in the year 2021. They were Wapis, Tohmat and Mai pyaar mein hu. In 2022, she has been featured in a music video titled, “Dil ka Gehna” sung by Yaseer Desai.
