Early life, family, and education

Falguni Pathak was born on 12 March 1969. She is also the fifth daughter of her parents. Her birthplace is Vadodara, Gujarat, India. She is 8 years younger to her fourth sister. Falguni’s parents were expecting a boy when she was about to be born. Moreover, Falguni’s four elder sisters always used to dress her as a boy while playing with her in the childhood.

Career

She also performs at live concerts in India and abroad. She is supported by the band Ta Thaiya, which includes 18 members. Falguni has also appeared in Hindi television serials. She is quite famous for her Navratri songs. Falguni Pathak recorded a song for the first time when she was only 10 years old. This was for a Gujarati movie alongside Alka Yagnik. However, the song “Yaad Piya Ki Aane Lagi” in 1998 was her debut in Hindi Music industry.

Some of Falguni’s famous singles include “Maine Payal Hai Chhankai”, “Meri Chunar Udd Udd Jaye”, “Saawan Mein“ and many more. She also appeared in the Hindi TV serials “Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah” and “Baa Bahoo Aur Baby.” Besides these, Falguni also made her appearance in reality shows like “Kaun Banega Crorepati“, “Star Dandiya Dhoom“, and “Comedy Nights Bachao.” Moreover, she is quite popular among the Gujarati community for her Navratri special songs. One of Falguni’s famous Gujarati songs, which is high in demand during the Navratri season, is “Indhana Vinvaa Gayi Thi More Saiyan.”

In 2002, Falguni was behind costume designing and made contributions in films including Dil Vil Pyar Vyar and Dil Hai Tumhaara.

Controversies

In October 2010, during the Navratri celebration in the Garden city, Ankleshwar, Gujarat, the residents accused her and actress Shefali Jariwala. The acquisition was for using double meaning words and doing obscene gestures on stage.

Recently, with the release of Neha Kakkar’s remake ’Maine Payal Hai Chankai’ made Falguni Pathak upset. She shared her views on internet and even spoken about it. Falguni says she is fine with her songs being adapted, amid feud with Neha Kakkar. She added that it should be done well and spoilt.
